It seems reports of Jeschke having a new altitude world record at 6704m were somewhat inflated. Now the altitude claimed has shrunk to 6675m, which puts it below the existing record of 6688m. Instead Jeschke is now having to make do with claiming a "Truck" world record.
Bizarrely he is also claiming it is the highest a diesel engine has ever been ... I think he doesn't know about diesel engined aircraft. They were flying at 8300m even back in the 1930s. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bristol_Phoenix)
